en·tre·pre·neur
(òn´tre-pre-nûr) noun
A person who organizes, operates, and assumes the risk for a business
venture.
Entrepreneur
is a word bantered about quite often with little understanding of
the meaning. Sure, the dictionary definition is easy enough to understand,
but the real weight of being an honest-to-goodness entrepreneur
is something that most people cannot fathom.
The hardest
part of being a real entrepreneur is taking full responsibility
for your actions. Working for someone else allows one the luxury
of "goofing off", a trap that affects a major segment
of today's work force. As a self- employed person, you will soon
realize that individual success is in direct proportion to individual
effort. As an entrepreneur you will take risks that employees shy
away from, perhaps trying something new and different for the hope
of building a better lifestyle.
One must remember
that their friends and family may try to hold them back because
they are afraid to take that risk themselves or they are afraid
that your success will somehow make them feel inferior. Listen to
the nay Sayers, be patient with them, but follow your dream.
There are many books written, articles published
and seminars given on being a successful business person. The answer
is truly quite simple. A successful
entrepreneur will follow a business plan, organize her time, her
efforts, and her tools, and put forth consistent effort in her daily
routine of building her business. The answer my friend, is in your
heart.
Don't spend
your time reading about it... like the ads say... Just Do It!
