Wedding and Event Manager

We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly organized events manager to aid in an exciting new endeavor for an established winery.  A manager to produce and create events from conception through to completion. Our ideal candidate will be able to provide outstanding customer service and organize memorable events that meet the style of the winery and potential clients. S/he must be able to work efficiently within time limits to plan, resource, and oversee the events. Excellent people skills are a must as s/he will be working with clients directly to identify their needs and ensure customer satisfaction in a timely matter.  An attention-to-detail attitude and cheerful demeanor are a must to the cultural environment. The abilities to multitask and prioritize are critical, as this role involves overseeing facilities as well as details such as conception planning, cost analysis, team building, entertainment, transportation, guest lists, special guest accommodations, equipment rentals, promotional material etc. If you are organized, creative, and passionate about planning, we’d love to meet you!

Event Manager Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ability to see the “big picture” in events and integrate the events into the many spaces available.

  • Meet objectives in all stages of event planning, design, and production.

  • Respond in timely manner to all inquiries from potential clients and management

  • Management of all project elements within time limits and on budget.

  • Exceptional communication skills to liaise with clients, identify their needs, and ensure customer satisfaction.

  • Able to conduct market research and gather information, and thoughtfully present positive and constructive commentary for improvement.

  • Ability to negotiate contracts.

  • Commitment to compliance with all insurance, legal, health, and safety obligations.

  • People skills needed to staff events and coordinate their activities.

  • Enthusiasm regarding collaborative work with marketing and PR departments to promote and publicize events.

  • Proactive approach to handling issues and troubleshooting any emerging problems on the event day.

  • Follow-through and willingness to conduct pre-and post-event evaluations, reporting on the outcomes.

  • Research skills to identify event opportunities, understand the market, and generate interest.

  • Tech savvy and social media aware

  • Availability to Lead Tours and Entertain potential clients

  • Attention-to-detail to keep facility immaculate for potential and existing clients.

  • Ability to work in a small management group and remain flexible and open to ideas

Event Manager Requirements and Qualifications

  • BS in Event Management or 3 years of experience in related field.

  • Significant work experience as an events planner or organizer.

  • Impressive references and portfolio of previously managed events (weddings, meetings, parties, corporate events, etc.)

  • Superb time management and communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Sales skills and an aptitude for building productive business relationships.

  • Ability to oversee multiple projects independently.

  • Proficient in MS Office and Adobe DC

  • References from previous clients.

  • Ability to lift 40lbs

  • Ability to work weekends and event hours

Hours and Compensation

  • Base salary plus competitive commission

  • 40+ hours per week
